Fair-pricing FAQ
Your questions answered.
- What counts as an email?
- One accepted recipient. A message to three recipients counts as three. Bounced sends still count (we did the work); suppressed recipients don't.
- Are features gated by plan?
- No. Every plan, including self-hosted, has the full feature set: templates, webhooks, inbound routing, and SSO.
- Where does my data live?
- Cloud plans run only on EU infrastructure under EU jurisdiction. Self-hosted lives wherever you put it.
- What's the exit path?
- The cloud runs the exact open-source code. Export your data, run docker compose up on your own hardware, and repoint DNS when you are ready to move.
- Do unused emails roll over?
- No. Plans are cheap enough that rollover accounting would cost more than it saves you.
- Marketing blasts?
- No. CamelMailer is built and priced for transactional mail. Bulk marketing violates the acceptable use policy on every plan, whether cloud or self-hosted.
